Since 1896, the VNA has cared for the most at-risk populations in our communities. We extend our expertise in community/public health services to everyone, regardless of their complexity of care or ability to pay.
We provide care to our clients where they call home whether its their house, a homeless shelter, transitional housing or a correctional facility.
Funding for these services include the United Way, private pay, contracts, local, state and federal grants, donors, family and corporate foundations, fundraising events, and other contributions.
For more information about any of the VNA Community/Public Health services, please call (402) 342-5566, (712) 328-3990, or (800) 456-8869. You can also email Betty Cernech, Vice President of Community/Public Health, at bcernech@thevnacares.org.
Many VNA community/public health programs target low-income individuals and families, enabling your contribution to be eligible for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) credit. For example, in 2007, of the more than 9,000 served in our nurse home visitation program for new mom’s and babies, at least 70%* earned less than $10,000 a year. Please contact Brandi Tumbleson, Community Relations/Grant Coordinator, at (402) 930-4168 or btumbleson@thevnacares.org for information if you need documentation for CRA reporting purposes.
