Many of the VNA Home Care services are reimbursed by:

• Medicare
• Medicaid
• Veterans Administration benefits
• Private insurance
• Self-pay
• Services may be provided at a reduced fee for those unable to afford healthcare thanks to support from United Way, grants and other donations

For most payers, services must be considered medically necessary and the patient must meet certain coverage criteria. In order for Medicare to pay for home care services, the patient must have a skilled need for nursing or therapy, be homebound, and have a physician’s order for care.
