Is the VNA Medicare-certified?

Yes, the VNA is approved to provide services to patients with Medicare.VNA also accepts Medicaid, Veterans Administration benefits, private insurance and self-pay.

How do I receive VNA home care services?

A referral can by made by anyone involved in a patient’s care – physician, family or others. If someone other than a physician makes referrals, the VNA contacts the patient’s physician to approve orders for service.Once we have a referral, the VNA works with the patient, family and physician to create a plan of care, which is approved by the patient’s physician. All home care visits are made where the patient calls home and are supervised by a registered nurse or therapist to assure the patient’s health care needs are met on an ongoing basis.

Does the VNA offer a full range of home health care services?

The VNA is your “one stop shop” for all your home health care needs.We over all medical and non-medical care services that you need that will help your loved ones to remain where they want to be – in the comfort of their own homes.We provide skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapies, IV therapy, home health aides, as well as homemaker/companions.

Are patients’ special needs, such as language preferences, accommodated?

In addition to having bilingual staff, VNA employees have access to Hope Community Outreach Coalition for interpreter services.We also have a bilingual phone service for use in the office and in the home for over 40 different languages.

Does the VNA offer the personal care services the patient needs like assistance with bathing or dressing?

For patients on VNA Home Care, home health aides are available to assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing or using the restroom.When a patient no longer has a skilled need and is discharged from home care, clients can contact VNA HomeAide for additional care.HomeAide offers homemaker/companion and personal care assistance for seniors and other individuals who can benefit from assistance with daily living activities.

Does the VNA have staff available to provide the type and hours of care as prescribed by the physician? And can they start when you need them?

The VNA staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide a seamless transition for the patient when going home from a nursing home or hospital setting.In addition, we work with our patients and caregivers to schedule our visits when convenient to your needs.

Does the hospital discharge planner, doctor or social worker recommend the VNA?

Each year, we survey our physicians, discharge planners, social workers, nursing care facilities, as well as our patients to see how we are doing and if they would recommend the VNA to others.Here is what they say:

  • 90% of physicians would refer patients to VNA

Does the VNA have the staff available at night and on weekends for emergencies?

The VNA staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including nights and weekends to meet the health care needs of our patients.
